Founder: Reid Manheim is the founder of Solvitur, Inc., a gateway platform launched to overcome legal and political barriers that, to date, have largely precluded the realization of successful ABS agreements, commercialization of new products and the return of fair and equitable benefits from such products to countries and their indigenous peoples and local communities.

His path to Solvitur reflects his experience working at the intersection of policy and commerce across international jurisdictions, and a longstanding personal commitment to biodiversity conservation, underserved indigenous populations and equitable development outcomes.

His policy and commercial experience includes work for Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy and business advisory firm chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez, where he advised on engagements between governments and multinational enterprises.

He subsequently spent six years helping to grow a global investment firm to in excess of $5 billion in allocations and working across its offices in New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, where he developed expertise in structuring complex multi-jurisdictional transactions involving consumer goods, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. This vantage point provided direct insight into how the supply chain and R&D pipelines function – including varying, and often lacking, degrees of awareness around ABS compliance.

Reid is a published author for his work with Stanford’s Rural Education Action Program, whose mission is to serve underserved populations reach their full potential. He graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College with a degree in International Politics and Economics. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
